Tanicut is Petani’s flagship tool: a full video editor that runs in the browser tab, with the AI features people pay cloud services for running client-side instead. Roughly 397 thousand lines of code, nine interface languages, and a test suite that closed its last upgrade wave at 3,753 tests green.
What it does without sending a single frame anywhere:
- Captions with word timing, plus one-click translation to Indonesian.
- Denoise tuned to broadcast loudness targets.
- Silence detection and beat markers, so rough cuts assemble themselves.
- Auto-reframe with subject tracking for vertical exports.
- Speaker diarization in the browser via onnxruntime-web.
- Multi-aspect export variants from one timeline.
My favorite shipped feature is the review flow: you send a cut for feedback as a single self-contained file, and the comments that come back import as markers sitting exactly where the reviewer meant them. Feedback becomes cursor positions instead of paragraphs.
