A meeting recorder you can actually trust, because nothing leaves the laptop. Hayscript runs mlx-whisper large-v3 for transcription and pyannote for who-said-what, all on the Mac’s own silicon.
Real numbers from my machine: a 100-minute recording transcribes in 17 minutes and diarizes in 4. Speakers get sampled ten seconds at a time so labeling them takes seconds, and the whole thing exports as clean markdown straight into my notes.
The detail that sold me on my own tool: every word carries a confidence score, and low-confidence words get flagged for one-click fixes. In its first session the confidence panel caught Whisper hearing “Petani” as “Perthani” at 0.49 confidence, and I corrected it from the review UI without touching a file. The tool caught its own mistake and handed me the pen.
Built from an empty folder to working product in one orchestrated session, story in the journal.
